Uptimeify vs. ServerGuard24
ServerGuard24 has monitored from Germany since 2003, out of a data center the vendor states is TÜV SÜD ISO 27001 certified. So data residency is settled, and that is exactly why it isn't the argument here. The argument is what has shipped since their last public product update in April 2022: nothing you could put in front of a client.
For agencies and MSPs
- German infrastructure, still actively developed
- Multi-step browser checks on Playwright, headless, no Windows box required
- 29 notification channels with multi-step escalation
- Every client gets an isolated sub-account, unlimited, no surcharge
- Your logo on status pages and PDF reports, included
For single-server setups
- German infrastructure, last public update April 2022
- Transaction Manager runs off a Windows PC with Internet Explorer
- 5 integrations, essentially generic webhooks plus Opsgenie
- No tenant separation, every client object lives in one account
- Branding exists, but it costs extra

In short
ServerGuard24 is built for someone watching a manageable number of their own servers, from Germany, with no debate about where the data center sits. It has done that job for more than twenty years, and for that job it still does it.
The moment you look after other people's sites, three things change. Your clients want to see something that looks like you, not like your supplier. Your team needs alerts where it already works, not just a webhook. And you need separate accounts per client, because otherwise every permission decision becomes a compromise.
That's where Uptimeify picks up: the same German hosting story, with the tooling a portfolio actually demands. Playwright instead of Internet Explorer, 29 channels instead of five, unlimited sub-accounts instead of one shared bucket.

Where Uptimeify leads
Three things the big players solve differently. And that we built for your agency.
A product that still moves. ServerGuard24's last public product post is dated 25 April 2022, which is over four years without visible development. Uptimeify ships Playwright-based multi-step checks, heartbeat and cron monitoring, DNSBL and domain-expiry checks, so you never have to explain to a client why their checkout goes untested.
Browser checks with nothing bolted on. ServerGuard24's Transaction Manager requires a Windows PC running Internet Explorer, and transactions cost 7.90 EUR each on top, though their own FAQ contradicts itself with 8.30 EUR on the same page. Uptimeify runs multi-step flows headless on Playwright, included in every plan, so you test login, cart and checkout instead of just the homepage.
Alerts where your team already is. ServerGuard24 offers 5 integrations, core of it generic webhooks plus Opsgenie. Uptimeify brings 29 channels with multi-step, time-based escalation: an unacknowledged alert moves to the next responder, so a 2 a.m. outage doesn't sit in an inbox until 8.
Where ServerGuard24 wins
No tool wins everywhere. Three points where ServerGuard24 is the better call.
The cheaper entry. Basic lists at 7.90 EUR per month, currently discounted to 5.90 EUR, and includes 5 checks plus 100 SMS. If that is genuinely all you need, we cost more.
A free starter package. ServerGuard24 offers a free tier with one object and a PING check. Uptimeify has no permanent free plan, just a 14-day trial covering 25 monitors.
Twenty years in the same place. ServerGuard24 GmbH is based in Bonn, the product has run since 2003, and the vendor states its data center is TÜV SÜD ISO 27001 certified. That operating history is something Uptimeify does not have.
Frequently asked questions
ServerGuard24's most recent public product and news post is dated 25 April 2022. That's the defensible fact: over four years with no publicly communicated product updates. The marketing still leans on historical references, and the Transaction Manager still expects a Windows PC running Internet Explorer, a browser Microsoft has retired. Whether work happens internally, nobody outside can judge. It isn't visible. What that means for you: check that the features you'll need in two years already exist today. They probably aren't coming.
Yes. Create your clients and monitors in the dashboard, or automate the move through our REST API: customers, websites, status pages and notification channels are all API-creatable. Since ServerGuard24 keeps objects in one shared account and Uptimeify gives every client its own sub-account, the migration is a good moment to cut the portfolio cleanly along client lines. For larger estates, our team helps with the import.
Uptimeify's core infrastructure runs in Germany, in Frankfurt and Nuremberg. Check nodes sit in Europe only: Nuremberg and Falkenstein in Germany, plus Zurich, Prague, Helsinki, Milan and Warsaw. We operate without US sub-processors, and a DPA is ready to sign. On this point ServerGuard24 is broadly comparable, since they host in Germany as well. So this is not what decides between the two of us.
Nothing. White-label ships in every plan: status pages on your own domain via CNAME, PDF reports carrying your logo, delivery through your own SMTP, no "powered by" underneath. Unlimited sub-accounts carry no surcharge either. Your plan tracks one thing, the number of monitors: 10 monitors at 29 EUR, 25 at 69 EUR, 50 at 120 EUR, 100 at 220 EUR, 200 at 420 EUR.
For five checks on your own server, ServerGuard24 is cheaper, no argument. The maths flips once you're watching client sites and the extras start landing: additional checks from 0.80 to 1.40 EUR, transactions at 7.90 EUR each, SMS bundles from 0.10 EUR per message, all net plus 19 percent VAT. At Uptimeify the plan price is the final price, white-label, status pages and sub-accounts included. Run the numbers on your real client count, not on the entry tier.
Yes, and as many as you like. Each client gets an isolated sub-account with granular roles. You decide per client whether they may create their own monitors or whether your agency keeps control and the client instead files change requests that you approve or reject. ServerGuard24 offers no comparable tenant separation.
